Hi Lani, very exciting to hear you’re heading to Hamilton soon! It depends what you’re hoping to see…if you’re visiting for the reef and islands then I’d suggest staying out there and doing day trips from Hamilton. If however you wanted to see some of the cane fields, waterfalls and wander along the Airlie Beach foreshore then a day trip could be fun! You can walk into town easily from the Port of Airlie, spend a few hours then catch the boat back in the afternoon 🙂

Damn we live in a beautiful place! That’s for doing my home justice, so many cool spots here. Can’t beat Whitehaven but there’s loads of other spots if you’ve got a tinny to get around.

I’m going to Hamilton Island in November, do you think it’s worth going in to Airlie Beach or just staying at Hamilton and doing a day trip to the reef?
