Thanks Lisa, you’ve pretty much convinced me. I’m also leaning towards taking the 40-150 f/2.8. In recent years its lighter f/4 cousin has been more favoured, but in this case I think teleconverters are a good thing to have. Thanks for all your efforts in publishing some really great resources here!

In reply to <a href="https://www.thewanderinglens.com/glacier-lodge-eqi-greenland-2/#comment-383808">David Mantripp</a>.

Very exciting to hear you're off to Eqi this September David! I would recommend the lighter option as it's not only a climb up to the camp from the boat, but the boat is also quite cramped (inside, plenty of room outside on the deck) as there are also day-trippers on board in addition to those getting off at Eqi to stay. The hikes aren't super challenging, but they are long, so it depends on how much you can carry and for how long and if your OM SYSTEM gear has better telephoto reach, this is a much better option as the glacier is deceptively far away. It feels and sounds close, until you start zooming in! If you were planning to take your Hasselblad gear to Greenland, however, you can always leave a suitcase at the hotel in town while you're visiting Eqi. Wishing you an amazing trip and great conditions :)

Thank you, very interesting and informative. I'm going to Eqi in early September, and currently agonising over whether I should take my OM gear (ultra flexible, light and honestly pretty good results) or Hasselblad (heavy lenses, little telephoto reach, nightmare changing lenses, no dust protection at all, no IS, but unbelievable results). This article has helped to tip the balance towards common sense :-)
