Hi David, exciting to hear you’re heading to Queenstown soon!
If you’re flying from Auckland I would sit on the right hand side of the plane so you can hopefully see a peek of Mt Cook and the mountains on the way down. On the descent into Queenstown you’ll get views out both sides of the plane over Lake Wakatipu however it will depend which way they are approaching due to weather. If you were going to choose one side though pick the right (when looking toward the front of the plane) then cross your fingers for clear skies…incredible views!
Also if possible try to get a seat in front of the wings (rows 1-10) so you avoid any blur in photos caused by the engines.
Can you tell I’m a plane geek yet?

You mentioned being able to get some shots from theh plane ride in/out. We’re flying in from Auckland. Which side of the plane is best to ride on?
